More on Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass

The cnn.com article linked below contains, among other interesting information, this:

"Pullman himself has said, 'I'm trying to undermine the basis of Christian belief.'"*

Before you buy a ticket to see The Golden Compass, ask yourself if that's really a cause you want to contribute to.

I was pleased to see the low turn out for The Golden Compass this weekend. Even though it was the #1 movie, it only grossed $26 million--very, very low for a $180 million project. With the long list of big shows coming out over the next several weeks, it seems highly unlikely Compass will do enough business to justify it's own cost, much less an investment in sequels.
